My friend had this bottle and I thought it was so great that I bought one myself. My previous bottle (which I lost) was a Nalgene wide mouth which sometimes spills when you drink too quickly. For a while I thought this Nathan was the perfect bottle. However, the mouth piece that you drink from is made of a softer plastic, and there is a seam between the hard plastic and soft plastic that seems to permit mold growth. I would occasionally catch a slight scent of mold when drinking from it, which isn't too appealing. I would also be somewhat concerned about the top cap coming unscrewed because the threads don't seem very sturdy.Just yesterday I decided to buy two large mouth Nalgene bottles, which are much simpler and sturdier. They don't have the nice drinking top that this Nathan bottle has, but they're easier to clean and seem more indestructible. It’s sturdy, solid, and functions really well. I have been using it daily for six weeks now and it still looks new. The bottle itself is a nice hard molded plastic. The website calls it “BPA-free Eastman Tritan™ with odorless and tasteless technology”. I have never had any issues with odor, staining, or strange taste, even on day one.The bottle has two lids, a large one for filling the bottle and a spout for drinking. The wide-mouth is the perfect size for getting ice cubes in the bottle and the spout is just the right size for drinking.The large lid is a nice, high quality, matte plastic. The large lid on the bottle is has a nice thin layer of silicon around the edge that makes for a nice grip when trying to open the bottle. The drinking spout has a nice, soft, silicone mouth piece. This mouth piece is removable for washing and really makes the bottle comfortable to drink from. I no longer fear hitting my teeth off of hard plastic.The spout has it’s own little screw on cap that is tethered to the bottle. This is nice for two reasons: (1) I lose stuff and if that little lid wasn’t tethered to my bottle I would have lost it already and (2) when it’s screwed on, the tether makes a nice little handle loop for me to carry the bottle. Both lids are threaded and have two threads so it’s just enough to be a nice leak-proof seal without being annoying to get off. In addition, the large lid has a rubber washer to keep it extra water proof.It’s also super easy to clean. Its safe for the top rack of your dishwasher and the small silicone mouth piece can be removed to be sanitizedThe colors are great! There are nine different colors to suit your personality and the lids and bottles are interchangeable so you can mix and match! I own the blue one with the pink lid (#5) and the pink one with the blue lid (#2). Guess what colors I like? Hahaha! The colors of the bottles I have are very vibrant! The pink bottle is an almost neon fushia and a sunshine yellow sipper. The blue bottle is an aqua color and the pink lid is more of a neon red! They are really pretty to look at and the bright colors make me happy!The only downside I see to this bottle is that it is big. It’s 3″ wide by 11″ tall. It doesn’t fit in a car cup holder, at all. But, if you are looking for a 1 ltr. bottle I guess you should expect it to be big. Luckily, it’s quite durable and totally leakproof so I can just toss it in the seat next to me or in my gym bag, no problem!In the end, it’s more attractive and convenient to carry around this bottle than a gallon jug, you will always know which bottle of water is yours at the gym, it will help you stay fully hydrated during the day, and it’s better for the environment to wash and reuse!See more fitness product reviews at www.knockoutgnome.wordpress.comHad this brand for 5 years now. I lost my old one so I had to get another, and I didn't think twice of buying a different brand. These are the greatest water bottles you can get on the market. I have went on hikes, road trips, workouts, you name it - it's perfect for every situation! I have dropped it too many times and never once did it leak, or crack open. The screw on cap is tight and holds the water in with no problems. The build itself is made up of very sturdy plastic which as I said can survive anything.Drinking from it is great. It comes out in an even amount and the cover on top is soft so it feels good in your mouth and not just a stiff rubber peice. Its also great for "air sips" for others without them touching the top.The grip on the top is also useful for grabbing it on the go and the hook on the side to connect it to backpacks and things like that.Overall honestly there is no other water bottle like this one with the quality and design of the bottle. It lasted me more than 5 years. I've been through other bottles and none could come close to my Nathan. Highly recommended for the buyer!!In the past I have bought many water bottles, but none of them could live up to this one. I have only had this water bottle for a day and I can say that it has already blown me away. It is very easy to use, and has an ergonomic design. This bottle is also very stylish and sturdy, I love the colors that you can choose from.I tested this water bottle out in two ways, the day I received it I cleaned it and filled it up about half way with orange juice. I drank the juice and washed the bottle out, but I didn't let the soapy water sit in the bottle like I usually did with my other water bottles, I just rinsed it out a few times. Then I poured chilled water into the bottle and drank it. I was impressed that the water didn't taste like the juice, in my past experience with reusable bottles my water would taste like the drink I previously had in the bottle. I also noticed that after rinsing the bottle out it didn't have a odd smell to it which is what I am used to.This bottle is user friendly to people who are clumsy like myself, I have a tendency to spill everything no matter what it is. I love that this bottle comes with a top that screws on and off of the mouth piece. That is a great feature to have, especially when you're carrying liquids that can stick everywhere when spilled, such as juice. I noticed that if you don't want the screw top on you have the option to take it off. I feel very confident that I will not make a mess while using this bottle.Overall I would recommend this bottle to anyone, whether you're using it for the gym or you just want something cute and sturdy to hold your favorite drink. I feel confidence when I use this bottle, and if you want the same feeling don't hesitate to buy this product you won't regret it.Much better than I was expecting! The bottle itself is really solid plastic and the cap is a softer silicone-type material which is really nice to drink from. The cap screws on tightly too rather than just clipping on. It doesn't mention it in the description but it's BPA-free and dishwasher safe, which is a bonus, and it's easy to take apart and clean. I've struggled to find a decent 1L bottle for work but this is perfect! InexpensiveWhat else do you need from a family water bottle? 5 solid stars.Not much to say other than its a good water bottle. Got it to track my water as I'm doing the while 2L a day business. The seals are very gold as I've had no leaks yet and I like the screw lid, makes it feel more secure. Overall just what u wanted.Been using bottle every day for 16 months, never leaked. The silicone on lid is now just wearing away. Would recommend you need to take out and wash the rubber seal ring inside lid as can start to go moldy. Would definitely recommend.Really hard plastic and no leaking great bottle best one ive tried
