This lasted about 8 months before I had to get another replacement. I tend to chew on the straw tip and then it starts to leak, and I noticed that this one would not stay down after a while. Overall, great purchase and I would get again! The most common complaint I see about this product is that the straw is "too long." This is a universal replacement part for Adult Camelbak Eddy models. The straw and replacement lid are not designed for a specific size bottle. The back of the packaging has instruction for cutting the straw to fit your specific water bottle.I purchased this lid for use with my new Camelbak Chute water bottle because I wanted a one-handed drinking option. Unfortunately, the straw is too short. I can, however, tilt the bottle back like a traditional water bottle and drink that way. I am going to look for a solution to fashion my own straw that will better fit the larger Chute bottles. The bite valve does have a tendency to collect mold. This is, in part, due to the fact that the valve closes automatically, sealing in moisture. You can remove the valve from the lid for cleaning. Wash with hot soapy water (do NOT stick a brush in the slit as it can tear the bottle) and (if there's concern of mold) sanitize with bleach. Allow to air dry completely before use. (Even removing the bite valve, rinsing, and allowing to dry completely should make a big difference).I ordered this just needing a new lid for my old camelbak bottle. It would have been nice to know I would be getting a whole new bottle also. It now has no lid and just takes up room. Wish I knew what I was actually buying. Then I wouldn’t have because I don’t need the loose random bottle.I love this bottle but it is comical that I need to replace the cap every year because it is not mechanically sound. That said this is a good deal and I'm happy about it.CamelBak Eddy Replacement Cap & Straw : Perfect replacement for my bottle. I needed a new cap and straw because my old original one no longer stayed down in the closed position and was getting moldy more often; I had been using it for years. This new cap works perfectly. It doesn't even leak when I flip the bottle upside-down. For the reviewers who were complaining that the straw was too long, the directions on the back of the package states to cut the straw based on your bottle. There are guidelines on the back of package telling where to cut and for which bottle. After I cut my straw to the recommended length for my bottle, it fit perfectly. You can always compare it with your old straw if the packaging is too confusing. I decided to get a new cap and straw instead of getting a whole new bottle because my current bottle has my alma maters logo on it.Fits perfectly on our Eddy 0.6 L and 0.75 L bottles. You trim the straw to fit your bottle size using the old straw as a template. What I like about these, is that they don't leak even with the bite valve in drinking position. For those who suggest that you could almost buy a new bottle for the price, yes, and you probably should after a few years anyways because the plastic does eventually develop micro scratches that could harbor icky stuff. But, for those in between needing a whole new bottle, replacing just the cap is the greener solution. The valve really is the weak point on these CamelBaks - they seldom last longer than 6 months in my hands. In the past I've gotten warranty replacements (it's super easy; CamelBak really stands behind its products - just go to their website and look under support), but, well, it was time to just break down and buy a new cap.I have two old stainless steel .5 liter Camelback that I use all the time, and needed new lids. They were white and had just gotten too hard to get clean after all these years. My bottles appear to be called "Camelbak Better Bottle Stainless insulated .5 Angles", but I couldn't find it on the website. These lids worked, and they're black/grey, so they look much better than my old white lids. I had to cut a small amount of the straw off in order to fit, but that was easy enough. I am so happy! My replacement eddy lid and straw came with a free bottle attached!A bit expensive for a cap, but cheaper than buying a new bottle. I had an older 750ml bottle where the pop up bite valve had finally snapped off and no longer functioned. Unfortunately there was no way of repairing it and so I had to buy a new cap. This is slightly different to my old cap, but it fits and works. The cap is designed to fit a range of bottles and so the straw will need to be cut down to suit the size of your flask. I made the mistake of guessing it and I cut it a bit too short. Had I not jumped the gun and read the back of the card it was delivered on I would have seen the cutting guide which would have been just right for my flask - my bad!Bought to replace the one that came with my bottle. Great product.Ideal! My previous "nib" (or whatever the bit you actually bite & suck is called) had ripped slightly, so it was all drippy and leaky. This new one is great! Fully reccomend. It's the full lid, as upposed to just a replacement "nib", but it's nice to have a total new top to my bottle! :)ExcellentEvery now and then it kind of jams, I can’t suck water up from the bottle, and 8 have to open it up and fiddle with the little pressure release seal inside. Had the same issue with the one I replaced, but I thought it was just faulty. Looks like it’s an ongoing problem.
