Due to the way the rails are on Brooks saddles, this does not mount securely on the saddle. While it is possible to get it mounted, it'll slowly work itself loose and pop off the saddle while you're riding.Otherwise, I quite like the simplicity of the design and it seems generally well made. Also comes with the 4x mounting bolts. With this you will receive:Cage mountBracket2 long bolt4 short bolts2 lock washersAllen wrenchInstructionsAfter removing all of the hardware from the packaging, place the mounting bracket behind the saddle frame. Once you have placed the lock washers on the two long bolts you can use the provided allen wrench to apply the cage mount to the bracket. Be sure align the bolt properly to prevent cross threading. The 4 shorter bolts are for the cages which are not included with the mount, so be prepared to purchase a set if you do not already have a pair. Now, on my bike I already have 4 bolts for cages that came with it, but what I decided to do since they require a different size allen wrench was to use the ones that came with the mount. That way It makes it a little easier to work on, already knowing I only need one sized allen wrench to work on this mount. This product is very basic and simple,I knew what to expect when i purchased the product and it met my expectations. 1 detail that I did not notice before this was installed was that it isn't completely vertical when its attachment. The problem with that is how close the cage and bottle are to the saddle. When riding the bike, I noticed that my lower back side is slightly rested against the cage which is a little annoying and distracting.I did find a few other options for this concept but believe this is the most practical for price and design. The bracket is sturdy and well made. The only reason it got 4 stars instead of 5 is because I had to make an adaptor bracket for it because it will not fit a Brooks saddle and they don't tell you that in the product description. The rails on the Brooks are wider-spaced than a "normal" saddle. If I was going to use it on the old saddle that the Brooks replaced, it would've bolted right up. Over all, a good product, it works well and the cages bolted right up to it with no modifications needed.I purchased this bottle cage holder for it's simple design and the two cage capability. There are several other reviews which mention the weak or cheap bracket quality. Here is the issue. The Minoura cage frame itself is well made and looks nice. The WEAK link is the bracket that the cage frame gets screwed to. I snugged the bolts enough that the cage frame would not rattle in place and then mounted my two bottle cages to the cage frame. The first time I put a test bottle in and out of the cage the mounting bracket broke. It is a low quality metal that is stamped into it's shape and therefore weakened at the creases, which are right in alignment with the threaded bolt holes. My bracket broke straight through the center of a bolt hole and all the way through so that it was in two pieces. Junky design.I manufactured my own bracket from some metal I purchased at the hardware store. Added some high quality stainless bolts and lock nuts and my cage frame now looks professionally made and is sturdy. You can pick up my bike by this now and it will support the weight of my bike. My design is simple and strong. It's a shame I had to waste 1.5hrs of my time to go to the hardware store and in making the new bracket for the cage frame. I liked the cage frame enough that I wanted to give it a shot. Additionally, my first triathlon of the season is next Sunday and I didn't want to chance it with an exchange because I'm certain the bracket on a second new unit would do exactly the same thing.Buy this if you want a simple looking bottle cage mount. But only do so if you plan to make your own mounting bracket to use in place of the one you paid for. Then it is a nice setup. The Mount worked well under the seat for smaller bottles but it can also be used in other locations like attaching it to rack supports.Mounting was a simple self-explanatory procedure that required only a 3mm hex key. Despite this, it comes with a manual with instructions in both English and Japanese... Just in case. The aspect of the threaded mounting plate seemed a bit dodgy, but I'm sure it'll hold up; the mounting hardware is long enough to the extent to which the screws come out of the mounting plate just enough to be able to accommodate some nuts for some extra reinforcement. (Which is what I would be doing if I were one of the many buyers that overtorqued and broke the threads in the mounting plate)I use the mount in tandem with an ordinary bottle cage and a Camelbak Podium chill; the top of the bottle is easy to grab and my hands are just where I need them on the neck... Squeeze, drink, done. If you're unfamiliar with this style of mounting, you'll get used to it after a while. I don't exactly have to worry about the bottle coming in contact with my butt, but it likely depends on the bottle size and what saddle you run. I have a State Bicycle/generic Vader saddle, and it all fits quite fine. Even if fitment is an issue, I'm sure it would be possible to use different hardware and some spacers/washers to produce a gap... Or you could just bend it, but that's a little too bubba. All in all... It's a mount, alright. It sure does do the thing. Looks slick too. Might end up purchasing the double mount so I can be even more aero...I ride a hardtail MTB in central Chile - it can get quite hot, but my frame only has space for one bottle. So I bought this to add an extra bottle behind / below the seat. When it arrived I was a little disappointed. While it's nicely made, it's pressed steel not cast alloy (threaded - so you need to be careful not to over-tighten the bolts, as with too mch force they could strip). I guess it's intended for tri bikes - I am pretty sure that if you simply mounted it on an MTB and went for an aggressive ride, you'd either lose the bottle, or bend the mount, or both. So I had to be quite careful abut how I used it...First, I mounted the bracket so that it was angled sufficiently for the bottom of the T to touch the seatpost. Then, with a bottle cage fastened on, it's possible to zip tie the bottom to the post. This makes it *much* more rigid.Second, the bottle cage is critical. I first tried with a metal Blackburn cage - one that works really well on my downtube. That bent as soon as I test bounced the bike with a full bottle of water (all the weight of the water is on the cage). So I hunted around and found a Cateye cage that is plastic and has a full circle round the bottle (no gap to make the bottle easier to remove). That didn't bend or break, but the bottle still looked like it could bounce out (cages are made to be used the other way round - with the part that is screwed to the bike *under* the bottle - and seem to be much less secure when used with the bottle "hanging").Third, I added a small strap, with quick release buckle, that goes under the seat and round the "neck" of the bottle. This holds the bottle in place and stops it bouncing out. With the setup described, the bracket is rigid, the bottle well supported, and cannot be lost. I drink from the bottle on the downtube til it's empty, then swap bottles (which takes a few seconds as the strap needs to be opened / closed). Finally, at least with a reasonable sized bottle, it's still possible to slide back (to get the weight behind the seat). The bottle is low enough to not restrict your movement (note, this is with the mount pointing down, below the seat - I've seen some photos of people fastening it so it points up).PS Delivery from Japan (to Chile!) was on-time, which was impressive. The parcel is sent recorded delivery, but there's no tracking info, so you have no idea where it is til it arrives.PPS Works fine with Selle Italia SLR Kit Carbonio saddle.Great product - really pleased. Fast postage and would recommend seller. This device is both sturdy, practical and stylish to provide maximum carrying capacity for long bike rides/ triathlons. Using it again this weekend - very pleased, thank you.Installed perfectly and I have had no issues with it. It is a very solid design. I use it with 2 raleigh alloy cages and can't fault the setup. My bike has had a few knocks and drops since installing it and all I have had to do is re-position the holder and tighten it up once.Absolutely top quality still have to mount it but I'm already pleased by what I could check beautiful finish also made in JapanI have a pretty standard Fizik Saddle but the mount sits under the back of the saddle meaning that the saddle itself is in the way of the cage which means I simply can’t mount the bottle cage. Poor design!
