Bought 2 of these, both say "VendorCo ProductCode USB device" in properties (google says chinese USB drive maker). The cardboard sleeve it came in looks like it was printed on an inkjet printer. Only getting 5-8 Mb/s write speeds. Inside of USB connector should be blue if USB 3.0...it is black. Videos on youtube show alot of text on the back of it, these have none...unsure how these made it into Amazons stock.Unfortunate that Amazon fulfills the transactions of false drives. This one was obvious. USB3 drives have a blue connector, this one was black. Also, when I tried running SanDisk secure data storage app, it did not authenticate"This software can only be use don SanDisk products"If you end up with a fake, make sure to return it and leave negative feedback for the seller! The USB came in different packaging than what is shown on the page. After repeatedly trying to throw on ~50GB of files, not only did it have terrible write performance (~4MB/s), it turned out to be not even an 128GB USB as it would overwrite contents. After closer inspection of the packaging, it appears that someone put a 128GB sticker over the original of 4GB (see photo).Buyer beware. After 1 month I can easily say that this flash drive is one of those that you should avoid at all costs! It has two major issues:1. It starts writing at a pretty good speed and then suddenly drops the speed to somewhere around 5MB/s and eventually, if the file is large, it completely stops the process and fails. So, you can use it only if you want to transfer several small/medium sized files. Large files are a no-no.2. Today, it completely stopped working and now it is not recognized by my computer. Also, neither can the TV recognize it anymore! So, not sure of what I am supposed to do with this failed product.Really wish I had read the reviews more carefully. I highly doubt that what I received was a genuine sandisk item. Just by touch it felt terribly cheap. I have a much older sandisk USB drive that was actually cheaper in price and much better quality. It gets extremely hot fast when in use and now doesn’t even work anymore. (I’ve had it for less than a week.) Tried formatting it and there is less than 1gb of space. Out of the package it had 113 gb despite Being sold as 128gb. Very deceptive and very disappointed with this purchase.I ordered this on September 17, 2017 and on April 29, 2018 (7 months and a few days later) it started locking up my computer when inserted, after some investigation and testing under windows and linux I've concluded that the device is locked in a READ ONLY state, which cannot be fixed. I bought this drive to use as a boot disk for various linux and windows iso's I regularly play around with, I know flash memory has a limited amount of rewrites before it will inevitably fail but this drive was rewritten 20-30 times at the most, and usually writing a 4gb or smaller installation image. I didn't hang on to the packaging because I've never had a flash drive fail before the point that I felt I got my moneys worth or needed to use its warranty before this. I doubt I can get any kind of replacement without having to pay to ship something at the very least which isn't reasonable for something that clearly failed before it reasonably should have. I have other USB flash drives that have been used regularly for over ten years and work exactly as they did day 1, this drive is obviously of extremely lousy quality if it barely made it half a year! After its failure I did some researching only to learn too late that this is a known problem and it happens all the time to unsuspecting customers who thought the SanDisk brand was worthy of some level of trust.I am not an engineer, but common sense tells me that this drive which becomes extremely hot to the touch after plugged in to my Mac for only three minutes, is not energy efficient and probably not even safe. Heat is A symptom of wasted energy, and believe me this flash drive become so hot it would almost burn your fingers after even plugged in for a few minutes. By contrast, I have some older flash drives which just become a teensy bit warm, nowhere near the Inferno of heat this thing generates. I'm returning it and getting a different brand.Good amount of storage for the price and wonderful random read and write performance compared to similar drives. However the drive gets extremely hot to the touch when writing and will thermal throttle down to around 20MB/s write speed. Notice how they never reference the write speed on the product page? That's because it starts at 70-80MB/s, quickly throttles to 40-50MB/s, and then shortly after that throttles to 15-25MB/s. This is unacceptable given the capacity of the drive, it takes ages to actually transfer something large to it.
